Delete your Recycle Radio data
This page explains how to delete what Recycle Radio keeps about you. Recycle Radio is made by [OWNER NAME].
On your phone
Everything the app keeps is on your phone, in the app's own storage.
- Everything at once: uninstall Recycle Radio, or open Android Settings › Apps › Recycle Radio › Storage › Clear storage.
- Recordings and clips: Library › Recordings, then delete each one. (In the Google Play version, clips are also deleted on their own after 30 days.)
- Podcast downloads: Library › Podcasts › Downloads.
- Favorites, recently played, your streams: remove them in the Library.
- Copies in Android's backup: in your Google account's backup settings on the phone.
On your own Recycle Radio server
Your server keeps its data on your computer, in its data folder and stations.json. Delete
those to delete everything; we never receive it.
An account on someone's Recycle Radio server (you signed in with Google, invited by its owner):
in the app, Live › 🖥 › Delete my account, and confirm. The server deletes everything it keeps
for you at once, and your sign-in to the app. Without the app, ask the server's owner, who deletes
it with python -m radiobot accounts delete <your email>.
Recycle Radio Cloud account
Once Recycle Radio Cloud is available:
- In the app: Live › 🖥 › Delete my account. You'll be asked to confirm.
- Without the app: email [CONTACT EMAIL] from the address of your Google account with the subject "Delete my Recycle Radio account". We'll confirm it's you before deleting.
What's deleted: your account and your sign-in to the app, stations, keywords, settings, alerts and answers, favorites, "not a song" and thumbs-down titles, and push tokens: at once when you delete it in the app, within 30 days when you ask by email (and from backups within a further 30 days). Your Google account itself is untouched.
What's kept: records of purchases, for as long as tax law requires (in Canada, generally 6 years), and stream addresses you submitted, without your name (stations others follow may come from them).
Your subscription: deleting your account doesn't cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it first in the Google Play Store › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.
